A Higher Call by Adam Makos

This is just one of those incredible true stories to come out of the Second World War, a crippled B-17 returning on its own is spared by a German Luftwaffe pilot and left to limp home.

Its easy to get swept up in grand manoeuvres, bullish Generals and cool equipment but its harder to put yourself in the place of a young man called up and sent to war who was just as green, nervous and probably bore no real animosity against the individual enemy soldier.

This is an old news report covering the incident, this December is the 69th anniversary of the event and a new book is about to be released, I’ve put a link for it in the store if you want to pre order.
